Well whaddaya know? I fused my fellowship with God with my being a DevCom student. Sweet!
My life never had the sheen of alabaster that I've come to associate with fairy tales. If it were, then I would be some sort of reckless prince who's supposed to slay a dragon and rescue a foolish princess who got herself pricked by some needle which gave her a sleeping pill overdose. The prince (that's me) should make out with the princess to wake her up.
Even in my poetic view, how I said it was disgusting.
But, if you look at it and relate it to the real world, you'll see a rather weird similarity.
Take, for example, child molesters.
Prickers of society. They sneak on ever-so-innocent "sleeping beauties" and take their innocence indirectly. The beauties then go into a lapse, somewhat like a deep sleep,
I wish this was the case of those young girls who got abused, but no. They're in worse condition.
How 'bout that dragon? Oh, right. That could be none other than the evils in this world that drive even the most saintly of us to bend. He actually has a name: Satan. Seriously, he's the root of all this, the one who gave the prickers their poison to make girls sleep and all.
Now, where do I go into the story? As I said, I am the prince, the knight in shining armor. I feel it's my responsibility to get rid of the prickers of society and the dragon that fuels them. I have to battle my way into the scary castle and rescue the princess. According to Ephesians 6, with the armor of God, I can do it even with the simplest stroke of my pen (or, in this case, a clatter on the keyboard).
Even God is recruiting me in His peace corps. Makes me want to do it more.
I've only started with my journey. Someday, I'll be able to stare directly at the dragon and slay it.
