I've been waiting for hours trying to get to connect, but it wouldn't budge. Well, my patience was rewarded with a big serving of Net Surfing!!!
So, on to the post.
I've been nostalgic again. Very sentimental I can get when I think about Atheneum. Not that I absolutely love the facilities and management, but the experiences that I got from it. I miss it already. It's really hard to let go of something that's been part of you for so long, like an organ or innard that you've had since birth until you get sick or kidnapped and that certain organ would be removed.
My senseis (what's plural for sensei?), or teachers, have taught me a lot, especially the ones I have in my fourth year. I'll count them off one by one.
Let's start with my very own class adviser, Darth Amelie Poulain, m.k.a (more known as) Ms. Anne M. (there's a lot of Ms. Annes in Atheneum, so I refer to them with their surname in initial). She's a Lit graduate, but she taught CL in my senior year. Weird, huh? Now, Darth is, well, not like your regular teacher (but, then again, all teachers in Atheneum aren't like regular teachers). She's a self-proclaimed weird person, just like me! That's maybe why I relate to her so greatly.
I remember the first time we saw her, when she was first introducing herself and the subject of Logic in our first day in 3rd year. Here's what I can still remember 'bout it:
Darth: "Hello. I am Ms. Anne Mallari. I will be your teacher in Logic this year."
Class: [silent (we're always like this with new teachers)]
Darth: "I've read your textbook and it seems so complicated, so I will provide notes for you to copy in my next classes."
RXZ: *thinking* "Why teach it then if it's so hard?"
Yeah, that seems rude. But then I didn't mean to be. We all mess around with new teachers. And I found out that I was wrong. Darth is really just like us (with little differences).
Then, there's Sir Emboy! He also has a codename: Lord Matute III. He's our Physics and Calculus teacher. He makes those subjects seem easy (and they are!). He's wacky and fun. He's also our CAT adviser, so we also see him on Saturdays.
Here's a dialog:
Emboy: "O, ang simple simple na nyan ha. Baka magbagsakan na naman kayo."
Classmate:"Tser, ang hirap naman nyan."
Emboy:"I can't make it any easier. It's not one plus one. It's calculus."
Classmate:"Eh may shortcut ba yan?"
Emboy:"Oo."
Classmate:"Eh bakit hindi na lang yung shortcut yung ituro nyo?"
Emboy:"Bakit, matututo ka bang magbisikleta nang hindi hinahawakan yung handles kung hindi ka naman marunong magbisikleta? Basics first!"
My goodness. My creativity dissappeared again. I'll stop here for a while and then continue in another post. Bye for now!
Hi, RXZ. :)
It's been a long time since I last visited your blog, only to find out that something was written about me and Sir E* (I don't type out names, they come out in Google really fast). Thanks for appreciating us teachers. :)
Good luck in college! I know that you'll do well there. Carry on, fellow weirdo.
