Then, my phone vibrated. It was a message.
It was from one of my best friends, Kay. "Happy birthday, Ryan!" it said. My heart screamed with emotion as my best buddy remembered.
Then, 5 minutes after, my friend Aika texted a long message of reconciliation and greeting me as well. I didn't imagine she would, since we're in a conflict with each other.
That did it.
Writer's block dissipated. Inspiration came to me as I slowly realized the fact.
I'm 16. 16, I tell you.
No more seeing shocked faces when I tell them "I'm only 15." No more feeling younger than everyone else. I'm 16!!!!
Actually, my CCC family already threw me a celebration last Thursday. They put flyers everywhere in the campus (at least the areas where they know I will see them), and when I got to the center, they all sang "Happy Birthday" and presented me with a birthday cake (from Mer-nel's! It's so yummy!).
Still, there's no other day than your birthday.
In celebration of my birthday, I made my own mission statement! I'll share it with you guys next time, 'cause it's in Los Baños, in my dorm.
Ah, blogging. Exactly the thing I want to be doing on the first few minutes of my 16th birthday.
